The MXB Wire FYE2024 Budget Poll Results

Thirty one (31) members of the community responded to the second version of the poll on the FYE2024 budget as of Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 8:12 AM. [1] The second version of the poll was released on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 12:15 AM. Unfortunately, the first version of the survey campaign, e-mail message, that was sent by a marketing service, included a broken link and none of the respondents who received that particular e-mail message responded though many attempted to do so many times. However, a few individuals who received the follow up e-mail message from the MXB Wire Contact management service regarding the survey did respond to the Straw Poll. Of the Thirty One (31) respondents, 26 (83.9%) answered that they wanted to see the drainage ditch work to be "paused". Three respondents (9.7%) reported being not sure and needed more information. Two respondent (6.5%) answered Yes, move ahead with the budget. Of the Thirty One (31) respondents 8 (26.7%) were in favor of keeping the assessment as is and diverting the funds that were to be spent on drainage ditch work to the capital reserve, while 18 respondents (60.0%) were in favor of not collecting the funds for the drainage ditch work for future potential work. One respondent (3.3%) stated that he/she intends to vote in favor of the budget as is. One respondent (3.3%) reported being not sure. Of the Thirty One (31) respondents 9 (29.0%) said that they attended the virtual town hall meeting whereas 22 (71.0%) said that they did not. Of the Thirty One (31) respondents 3 (9.7%) want the board to revert to the FYE2023 budget should the FYE2024 budget be voted down. Seventeen (17) respondents (54.8%) want the board to start the process over. Eleven (11) respondents (35.5%) reported being not sure and needed more information.

The survey at a 95% confidence level has a margin of error of 17%.
