Thank God Doug Ford, the Premier of the province of Ontario, is beginning to relax the COVID-19, Omicron variant restrictions, starting February 1, 2022. With the advent of the Omicron variant back in December, 2021, Premier Ford had no choice but to shut down the economy of the province. We were all at risk of contracting the most mild variant of COVID-19 that has the potential to cause a mild head cold, lasting one day. People, who have the misfortune of contracting Omicron, also have difficulty tasting their food. But thanks to the grace of God we have Premier Doug Ford to steer us to safety. Ford refused to take the risk that any one of his constituents could fall ill with the devastating Omicron variant.

So what if thousands more wind up homeless, living in a tent at a public park in downtown Toronto, Ontario? Allen’s Gardens, a public park in downtown Toronto, Ontario now has hundreds of tents as most all of the parks in Toronto have due to the homeless shelter crisis that currently grips the city. That is what public parks are for. The public park coupled with a provincial supplied tent, is the safety net for people, who once had jobs in the restaurant industry and other sectors that were closed down for weeks due to COVID restrictions, and have since run out of their life savings due to the government policies regarding the pandemic—a pandemic premised on a virus that has now morphed into a variant that causes a mild head cold.

The weather has been somewhat cold this past January, averaging -17 degrees Celsius at night. I do not see why that matters either. The tents can take the cold. It may be just a little uncomfortable riding out the night. But Canadians are a resilient lot of people. Granted over 100 homeless people died in 2021, but that figure is far less than the more than 900 people in Toronto, Ontario, who have thus far died of complications due to the virus. Granted none were put on a ventilator, however, the virus causes diabetes and obesity which ultimately killed these people. That is the science. Like in the words of perjury icon, Anthony Fauci, that is indisputable. If you criticize Fauci, you are against science.

Ontario could have followed Florida's example. Florida is fully operational. However, Florida has far more symptomatic cases of mild head colds. Who would want to risk that? The tents are great.
